Codes of Practice

What are Codes of Practice?

Codes of Practice have been developed as a means to strengthen the management and protection of our valuable archaeological heritage while also allowing the state’s infrastructure providers to progress with their programmes of work as efficiently as possible.

These codes have come about as a result of extensive consultation between the National Monuments Service and the organisations involved. They represent the commitment of all involved to archaeological conservation and to sustainable development sensitive to our archaeological heritage.
